Introduction for School of Stomatology of China Medical University

School of Stomatology of China Medical University was founfed in 1985, she was established affiliated Stomatology Hospiatl in 1987 and developed as school of Stomatology in 1998.

School of Stomatology of CMU and Stomatology Hospital has been carrying out management system named "two parts one". She is a high special hospital and a base of function dental education affiliated Chinese Health Minisrry and she collects medicine, education, scientific researching to herself. She take these as purpose: training high special talent man in stomatology, improving prevention and technical rewatment level in dental disease, extending prevention and cure technology levle in stomatology diseases.

School of Stomatology takes on works to teach and training in clinical for under graduated students, Master and Doctor of stomatology specialty of China Medical University, She has abundant teachers advanced teaching instrumnet and good teaching methods. There are 9 teaching departments: Anatomy Department of stomatology, Histopathology Department of Stomatology, Microbiology Department, Derital Material Department, Internal Medicine Department of Stomatology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department, Prosthodontic Department, Orthodontics Department, Prevention and Children Dentistry Department. Now she has two authorization points of master degree of two-grade course fo study: clinical medicine of stomatology and basic medicine of stomatology.

There are 223 staff in School of Stomatology, 24 of them are professorsor associate professors; 44 of them are lectures and attending physicians; 92 of them are other technology people and 45 of them are adeministration and rear servise people. Now, most of teachers have superiority in high degree and high level. Of 82 teachers one is post-doctor; 18 of them obtained Dr.Degree or are obtaining Dr.Degree; 35 of them obtained master Degree or are obtaining master degree. They are 69.9% of the total.

Up to now, school of Stomatology has educated 429 undergraduate students and 87 postgraduate students; on the other hand, she has trained many doctors and nurses for bellow hospital.

One academician of International Dental, there is one executive member and member of Chinese Stomatology Association, 6 people taliny on the office of specialty committee of Chinese Stomatology Association. China Stomatoligy Association of Liaoning province is depended at school of Stomatology of CMU, and 8 specialists of hers hold the president, vice president, executive member, member of it. It shows that Stomatology College plays an important role in stomatology acadeic circles in Liaoning.

School of Stomatology thinks highly of science researching, so the built experiment center, purchased quantity instrument of experiment of experiment and improve the conditions of research. Since the hospital has setup, school of Stomatology obtained 40 scientific item of Health Ministry, Education Ministry or others; and the total of foundation is nearly 80,0000 RMB, and she got 10 scientific achievements prize.

School of stomatology of CMU has paying attention to communication and cooperation with the same trade or occupation internationally from reforming,She has received 110 foreign visitors and dispatched nearly 50 times to Japan, USA, Canada,Singapole, Korean,Hongkong and so on.

There are 70 pieces of import super dental chairs at clinic and about 120,000 patients a year. Stomatology major: Stomatology major is set up 5-year system for students and takes culruring dentist of dental medicine and health protection for aim. The course set up are public basic course, medical basic course and main clinical medical course which is same as clinical medical major spexialty. the stomatology major is set up 9 subjects: Anatomy of stomatology, Histopathology of stomatology, Microbiology of stomatology, Material of stomatology, X-ray Diagnosis of stomatology, Internal Medicine Department of stomatology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontic, Othodontics, Prevention and Children of stoamtology; and other dozen elective course. The students of school of stomatology practise in affiliate hospital at the last year and obtian medical bachelor degee after qualified in graduate test. The graduate can master basic knowledge and technology of experiment in basic medical science and clinical medical sciense and master knownledge and technology fo medicine in stomatology, they can diagnosis and treat common diseases and do with urgent, difficult, serious disease initially; they can master knowledge adn medical technology of Prosthodontics and read specialty magazine in a foreign language; and they have an ability of clinical scientific researching initially.
