M.D. Surgical professor, tutor of doctor, the head of the surgical department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of CMU and hold a concurrent post as the surgeon in chief of No.1 general surgery ward (Which major in hepto-biliary-pancreatic surgery). The standing member of Liaoning Surgical Branch of Chinese Medical Association. The member of CMU Academic Committee, the editorial member of "Chinese Practical Surgical Journal"? "Chinese Modern General Surgical Progress Journal"? "Chinese Inner and Outer Bowel Nutrition Journal".

He mainly goes in for abdominal and general surgery, not only adept at the hepto-biliary-pancreatic surgery but also at the vascular surgery. He is striving for perfection in surgical skills and contriving new surgical operational methods many times. He is good at the big and difficult operations such as radical resection of hepatic tumors and advocates the combining application of disconnection and shunt operations to treat portal hypertension. He has brought forth new ideas on adopting the limited spleno-renal shunt method to prevent the encephalopathy after the shunt operation; He is excelling in performing the complicated biliary duct operations. He maintains and advocates to perform cholecystectomy using small-size incision and he has accomplished about 200 cases such operations without any complications. He has finished about 100 cases pancreaticoduodenectomy most of which are pylorus preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy operations and firstly adopted separated pancreatic juice and bile inner drainage methods to prevent pancreatic leakage after pancreaticoduodenectomy, the effects are very apparent.

During the early period he devoted all his time to the research of the formation reason of the gallbladder stone, issued several related scientific articles and formed a series study. He has accomplished one project supported by the National Natural Scientific Fund about the "Profoundly Research on Non-solvable Components of Calculus". He has acquired two times 2nd grade rewards of the Health Ministry in 1984 and 1993, in the same year acquired Liaoning province scientific technology achievements 2nd grade rewards and Shenyang municipal scientific and technology progress 2nd grade rewards separately. In 1987 for improving the technology of PTCD he acquired the Liaoning province scientific technology achievements rewards. For editing "Atlas Compiles of General Surgical Disease" he achieved the 3rd grade reward of Shanxi province scientific technology progress in 1983. For these years he directs his master and doctor degree students to perform a series study in the cause and treatment of hepto-biliary diseases.

Totally he has written about 40 science papers and academic works most of which have been published on the kernel journals. He took part in to edit several chapters of treatise "Modern Biliary Surgery" which is mainly edited by Yongxiong Liu and the "Abdominal Surgery" mainly edited by Haofu Huang. He was also appointed as the editing member of the 5th edition standard textbook "Surgery" by the National Health Ministry.
