Pan Enyuan

En-yuan Pan ,M.D. is the professor of Radiology in No.2 Affiliated Hospital, China Medical University; the advisor of Pediatric Radiology section in Chinese Radiologic Society (formerly the vice director of the Pediatric Radiologic section from 1989-1998), and is an expert with distinguished contribution of the Liaoning Province. He was graduated from Shanghai Medical College in 1953. His research direction included pediatric radiology (with special emphasize on pediatric gastroenterology and pediatric urology) and uro-radiology in adult. His progect "Clinical and X-ray Research on Meconium Peritonitis" got the first prize of the Important Scientific and Technologic Progress award in 1986 from the Health Ministry. The project of "X-ray diagnosis and classification of esophageal hiatal hernia in new-born and infant" pointed out that the disease is a common entity. Based on 413 cases he advocated a new classification. The paper was published in the Chinese Journal of Radiology, 1996,10:633 and got the excellent paper award from the Editorial Board of Chinese Journal of Radiology. "Clinical and X-ray research on urinary lithiasis" pointed out that the incidence of urinary lithiasis is also high in Liaoning Province especially negative stones. His "delayed 3 film" method for intravenous pyelogram in the detection of negative ureteric lithiasis proved to be simple and effective and found out that the regional incidence of the negative ureteric lithiasis to be 29.90%, which was 17.70% based on plain abdominal film only. The recent papers "X-ray diagnosis of antral mucosal diaphragmatic stenosis in infants and young children" published in Chinese Journal of Radiology 1993,29:542 emphasized that barium meal examinations are the chief method for diagnosis; "Infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis" published in Chinese Journal of Radiology 1996,10:702 concluded 5 atypical features which were not reported in the literature and had received special notice from the audience when reported on the national radiologic meeting.
