The Department of Pediatric Surgery of the 2nd Clinical College of China Medicial University was the largest clinical and research center in field of pediatric surgery in the northeast area. It was granted training program for Doctoral Degree in 1990 and major project of Liaoning province and major lab of the Health Ministry in 1996.There are 10 professors and 10 vice professors in the department.Among them there are 4 doctoral tutors.All young doctor obtained the master's degree,of them 13 doctoral degree.There are 110 surgical beds.It consists of gengral surgery (including neonetal surgery and rehabilitation therapy division),urinary surgery and orthopedic surgery.

34 grants from several ways were got and more than 300 papers were published written by this department.The main research interests were in fields of dislocation of the hip,anorectal malformation,biliary tract and hydronephrosis due to congenital factors.

Professor Ji Shijin the chief of department who was the head of Chinese Association of Pediatric Surgeons and major lab of the Health Ministry.More than eighty papers were published in the leading journals.

Professor Wang Weilin was the chief of department too.He got grants from the State Nature Science,the Health Ministry,Education Ministry and Liaoning government many times.More than twenty papers were published by the central journals both international and domestic.
