The second clinical hospital of CMU is a comprehensive educational hospital affiliated to the Health Ministry.It bears the responsibility of medical treatment, education, research, leader- training etc. Meanwhile it plays an important role in the diagnosis and emergency treatment of the majority part of northeast region.

Now, the hospital has 1000 beds and has estabolished 39 department such as department of inernal medicine, department of surgery, department of gynecology and obstetrics and department of paediatrics etc. The annual outpatient value is 840 thousand and the inpatient value reaches 24154. The appratus in the hospital are in the lead in the world. Now we have two nuclear magnetic resonance therapy apparatus, ?????CT, ??????ECT, ??????, X-ray diagnosis appara- tus,CR,three-dimensional image Doppler's ultrasonic diagnosis therapy apparatus,three-dimensi onal color ultrasonic diagnosis apparatus,dynamic ECG,electric magnetic stone-ground machine, and a series of fine quality ICU,CCU etc.

Our hospital has solid strength on science and technology. Now we have 2006 staff, including 235 professors and vice professors, 5 doctorate degree awarding spots, 22 masterate degree awarding spots, 17 supervisors of doctor degree and 90 supervisor of master degree.Now our hospital had one key lab of Health Ministry and 10 clinical medicine research offices.In recent years,we have taken charge of research projects of national?provincial and municipal institute .In detail,10 strategic project, 25.5 national natural science fund, 40 science and research fund of Health Ministry, 18 national eductional committee fund and 150 natural science funds of Liaoning Province .Up to now,we have gained 68 prizes of all institutes and have initiated more than 50 items of new technology some of which have been in the lead in the world. For example, the diagnosis and treatment of disease of pediatric internal medicine and pediatric surgery are on the top in our nation.Our hospital is one of the most important emergency treatment centers of the paediatric and the newborns in our nation.The department of radiography is the earlist specialization estabolished in Health Ministry affiliated hospitals.We are on the top of the diagnosis of the disease in this field. The diagnosis and treatment technology of liver disease, digestive tract disease, ano-rectal disease, lower position rectal carcinoma,intervention treatment, construction of artificial vagina with the sigmoid colon, perinatalogy, r-knife stop addiction,kyphosis and severe hapatitis have found their nitch in the medical field.Liaoning phonation Disorder Research Center,Liaoning Baby borne Consulltion Center,CMU Pediatric Institute are all located in our hospital.At the same time , we have published some journals.
