Mingqian Wang

Achievements
Professor Mingqian Wang began to study on the operation to construct artificial vagina with the sigmoid colon in 1979 . 10 years later , 281 operations was performed and the sucessful rate was 98.4% . In 1988 , Shenyang Science and Technology Committee invited some national experts to appraise his achievement , and submited to Liaoning Province Science and Technology Committee to apply for achievement rewards . The third grade Scientific and Technologic Progressive Rewards was issued by the province government . An academic thesis on the operation was published on Chinese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology , and exchanged at many international and domestic academic meetings. Professor Wang was highly evaluated by experts of the field for his excellent work . Video type about this operation is contributed throughout the country. So far, more than 500 operations have been fulfilled with a 99% successful rate . Patients from 26 provinces , cities and autonomous regions come up for such medical help.

Research
To observe the long-term effect and safety of the operation , Professor Wang directed three postgraduates to study the artificial vagina from the aspects of ecology , microbiology and immunohistochemistry. the results suggest that the operation is effective and safe, it can be widely spread . At present , further work on this project is still going on to add cases and spread the operation more widely.

Position
Professor Wang Mingqian is a standing member of the Obstetric and Gynecology Committee , Chinese Medical Association , and a member of Gynecologic Tumor Society of Chinese Anti-Cancer Association.
