Movie Night

Date: 2021.02.01

           Place: IES Building 302

   Time: 5 pm to 8pm

On the new start of a Fabulous month February, IES organised a Movie night for the students. The main purpose of this event to be established is to purposefully spend time among friends to watch an entertaining movie.

The movie night started by a brief welcome and an introduction by Clinton, who further gave us some knowledge about the upcoming events for this vacation and explained to us on the set of rules and ways of conduct that IES has suggested to the students.

The movie chosen for this movie night is one of highest rated movies in IMDb (a famous movie critic platform) called "Shawshank Redemption ".

Shawshank Redemption tells the story of goodness and virtues of a man who was falsely convicted for a murder to the Shawshank State Prison. It portrays the friendship shared between two men during period of their imprisonment who shared emotions and found solace in each other.

And the most important lesson that we learnt from the film is that in the darkest and most difficult moments, it is important that one stays true to themselves; because in the end, even if everything is taken away, still will have the “will” and “courage” that one can hang on to life and keep going. Thus the movie ends with a climax quote that “fear can keep you a prisoner, but hope can set you free”.

A total of 28 students showed up to watch this awe inspiring movie. We also shared some snacks and drinks while watching the movie.

The concluding speech was given by Grace pointing how important it is to make use of this opportunity given to the students for this winter vacation by IES. She also placed the gentle reminder of the upcoming events and the rules to be followed throughout the event.

On the whole, it was a really productive evening to have watched a good movie and to have spent time with friends.

We sincerely thank IES and the organizers for permitting to conduct events like this which is a great aid for the students to spend their winter vacation .
