In order to strengthen the classroom discipline management of international students, ensure teaching order and further improve teaching quality, regulations on the classroom attendance management of international students are formulated as follows:
Definition of class
Any place used by students during the course is considered to be class; Such as the classroom of theoretical class, laboratory of experimental class, clinical hospital department of practice classes, etc.
Attendance record
1. Students who arrive at the classroom on time and do not leave the classroom until the end of the class will be recorded as having regular attendance. Students who arrive at the classroom 1 - 20 minutes late will be recorded as being late.
2. Leaving classroom without permission before the end of the class will be recorded as an ‘early leave’, not regular attendance.
3. Every 2 lates or early leaves will be considered as one absence.
4. Students who are more than 20 minutes late will be recorded as being absent.
5. Without formal medical diagnosis and formal leave application from the instructor, any student who does not attend classes will be considered as being absent.
6. Students who do not come back to classes on time after holiday (except if sick and hospitalized with valid medical record as proof) will be regarded as being absent.
Implementation method
Students who are absent from a course for a certain number of times will be NOT allowed to take the final exam of the course and will only be given the opportunity to make up the exam at the beginning of the next semester.
Specific regulations for different teaching hours of courses are as follows:
1) If the student is absent without permission for 3 times or more for courses with 30 teaching hours or less.
2) If the student is absent without permission for 4 times or more for courses with 32-72 teaching hours.
3) If the student is absent without permission for 5 times or more for courses with 72 or more teaching hours.
Those who violate the above regulations will be punished by the School of International Education according to the relevant regulations on student enrollment management.
