Under an impressive excitement to visit Beijing the capital city of China via China Scholarship Council 3 days program, in a group of 8 students we all left in the morning to Shenyang North train station to take a 5 hours journey in the train. We got to mingle together and meet other students from Shenyang Aerospace University during the journey.

On our arrival in Beijing, we met with other students from other universities in China and all of us got lodged in Beijing University of International Business and Economics international plaza. Beautiful and luxurious were the facilities we used during those 3 days in the international plaza. Our first day in Beijing was very memorable with the visit of the bird nest football pitch where the 2008 Summer Olympic Games were held, next to the football pitch was the famous and glowing water cube where the Olympic swimming competition took place and some other historic buildings in its surrounding.

The second day we visited the most influential StarTimes Broadcast Industry. There, we were enlightened of their operations coverage and services they provided. We learnt that Startimes operates over 480 channels and broadcasts in ten languages including Swahili, Hausa, Yoruba, English, French, Portuguese and others. Then we visited a century old baking industry named Yili. We were all introduced to the internal structure of these industries and enjoyed baking and eat our own made bread. That same evening in Beijing Aerospace University, we had a lecture on 40 years achievements of China’s reform. We learnt more about China’s economic reform from the era of Chairman Mao Zedong. The knowledge gathered helped us to understand the spike in the GDP of China in past years.

On the third and last day we visited the Chinese People’s Political Consultative museum that was followed by a conference with government officials. In the afternoon we had the awarding ceremony of Outstanding International Students in Beijing University of Technology. We were so intrigued and in awe of the exposition of the rich culture of China acted out by international students. The day ended with a party where all students who joined the 3 days trip were honored to perform on stage as well. We did the dance of YOU WILL MAKE IT.

Beautiful, amazing and memorable was our trip in the metropolitan city of Beijing. It is an experience worth living, we are very grateful to China Scholarship Council and to teachers who labored hard to make this event successful. Blessed and prosperous be China!
