White Dew is the 15th of the 24 solar terms in the Chinese lunar calendar. It begins this year on Sept.7 and ends on Sept. 22.
白露是中国传统 24 节气中的第 15 个节气。今年开始于9月7日, 结束于9月22日。
White Dew indicates the real beginning of cool autumn. The temperature declines gradually. Vapors in the air often condense into turns into small drops of water when it encounters cold air at night. These water drops adhere to flowers, grass and trees. When the morning comes, the sunshine makes them look crystal clear, spotless white and adorable. There is typically autumn weather during White Dews period, when wild geese begin to migrate to the south and birds start to stock food for the long winter time.
白露的到来预示着凉爽的秋日开始了。温度逐渐降低。空气中的水汽在夜晚遇冷凝结成小水珠。这些水珠附在花朵、草地和树上，清晨来临时，阳光下的水珠看起来晶莹剔透，无瑕可爱。白露时期，就是很典型的秋日气候了，这个时期大雁开始向南迁徙，飞鸟都会开始准备越冬食物。
Varying by geographical location, autumn comes earlier in the west and northeast of China. During this period, Kanas in Xinjiang, Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan and the Greater Khingan Mountains in Northeastern China are entering the most beautiful season of the year. Hot summer is gone. However, it could be still warm in south China. It is different in the Yangtze River and Huaihe River valleys where it is usually humid during this period.
受地域差异影响，我国西部和东北部的秋天来得较早。这一时期的新疆喀纳斯、四川九寨沟、东北大兴安岭等地正在步入一年中最美的时节。而中国南方依然炎热，在这段时间，长江及黄河下游地区通常表现为阴雨连绵的天气。
