Delegation from Belfast visited CMU

On May 20th, a delegation of 23 people consist of city  council of Belfast, Queen’s University of Belfast, UK Embassy in China and  Invest Northern Ireland leading by Mayor Arder Carson visited CMU.  Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office’s Deputy Director Sun Li, Europe-Africa Division  Vice Section Chief Sun Xin also joined this event.

Party Secretary of CMU Tang Guohua, Vice President Yu Xiaosong met  with the delegation in No.6 meeting room on 17th floor of  multifunctional building. Director of International Exchange Center Pan Bochen  hosted this reception ceremony. Dean of CQC Yao Jiang, Dean of School of  Pharmacy Wei Minjie, Vice Dean of CQC David Rooney, Vice Dean of CQC Sha Lei,  Deputy Director of International Exchange Center Wang Yiping attended this  meeting.

Party Secretary Tang Guohua extended warm welcome to the delegation  and delivered welcoming speech. Through a brief introduction about CMU history,  student cultivation, disciplinary construction, communication and exchange, as  well as the cooperation between CMU and QUB, Party Secretary Tang indicated the  aspiration and determination to enhance the cooperation between the two  universities and promote the development of medical education.  

Vice Chancellor of QUB Patrick Johnston, Dean of CQC Yao Jiang and  Mayor Carson introduced QUB, CQC and the cooperation between Belfast and  Shenyang respectively. After meeting, the delegation visited CMU History Museum, CQC  building and communicated with CQC students accompanied by Party Secretary Tang  Guohua, Vice President Yu Xiaosong.

This visit has strengthened the friendship and mutual  understanding between CMU and QUB, and established the cornerstone on higher  scale cooperation for education, research, medical care between the two parties
