Research Center for medical education

Research Center for medical education of China Medical University was established in 1984, it is responsible for the research and management of educational research of China Medical University, having two functions of organizing and conducting educational scientific research and making strategic consultant. After establishment, the department actively helped the faculties and administrators to do scientific research and teaching reformation practice on medical education, provided educational theory training for teachers, improved its theoretical and research standards for education and provided relevant advisory task for the Ministry of education and Ministry of Health.

The center consists of administrative offices, teaching & research office of medical education and course, teaching & research office of educational evaluation and management, as well as teaching & research office of medical fine arts. Besides, the center has cooperation relationship with CMB North China Medical Education Development Center, CMB-CMU-FAIMER Center, China Medical University Clinical Skills Practical Teaching Center and China Medical University faculty Development Center. Presently, the center has a complete echelon and reasonable structure teaching team of 17 full-time teachers, including 2 professors, 3 associate professors, 9 lecturers, 1 assistant teacher, and over 30 full-time or free-time experts. The center has done more than 9 China Medical Board (CMB) themed researches, over 10 national themed researches, and required research funds of nearly RMB20 millions. It has won the national teaching achievement prize for 6 times in a row, including 2 first awards and 4 second awards. Also, the center has published more than 100 academic papers and has the editor-in-chief for 11 monographs on medical education research, 7 planned medical textbooks for institutions of higher education and 32 monographs on medical fine art research. Besides, it has organized network edition of national item bank on comprehensive theoretical examination for clinical medical specialty and national item bank on Medical diagnostics.

Under joint efforts of its staff, the center has developed prosperously, and established a wide range of contacts with world famous universities and research institutes. Since its establishment, it has won the title of advanced institution on national level and on the provincial level for several times. It is also a branch of medical education scientific research of the Chinese Association of Higher Education, Medical Education Branch. Sticking to the belief of “Innovation, Cooperation, Communication and Service”, the center is working hard to build a advanced education research institute both in China and abroad.
