The International Education School competed in the 2017 CMU Cheer-leading Competition on September 22, 2017. The Sports Section assisted in the recruitment of members weeks prior to the event and successfully recruited nine team members (two males and seven females)including the choreographer and the squad captain. In the opening ceremony of the competition, there was a flag bearer and a banner holder also representing IES. In the weeks leading up to the competition, the squad practiced three to four times a week and were able to deliver a quality performance and had a well-executed routine with standout choreography. The captain of the squad also performed a solo routine, which was inclusive of the squad’s total points attained. IES did not place in the competition but received high praises for the bold and memorable routine. Although the squad did not win a prize, they were happy to have represented IES. On the day, there was a good turnout of approximately 30 supporters including one teacher occupying nearly all the seats allocated to IES.
