SAFETY TIPS FOR WINTER VACATION

Jul 14, 2018 20:50

The winter vacation is from Jul.14 to Aug . 17, 2018. Classes will restart from Aug. 20, 2018. Everyone is required to be back before Aug. 20 and meet your adviser for registration in the student ID cards
Here are some tips for you to keep in mind to enjoy a safe and happy vacation.
   1. Take all your valuable belongs like cash, watches, mobile phones, laptops, etc.with you while leaving the dorm to avoid accidental loss.
   2. Bicycles must be parked and registered in the designed area between 6&7 dorms.
   3. For those students who stay in the dorms during the vacation, please take care of your own belongings. Lock the door while leaving the room. Off-campus visitors and opposite-sex students are not allowed to stay in the dorm.
   4. Don’t wear much jewelry while travelling, which might attract robbers.
   5. Don’t go outside at night. If you have to do so, tell your family members or friends about it and it’s better to ask someone to accompany you. Take some items like scissors,a whistle, or hair spray to protect yourself. Don’t cut corners but go along bright roads with many people around. Once followed by strangers, cross the road to see if they still follow you. If so, run to crowds and call 110 for the police if necessary.
   6. Don’t travel in unregistered taxi. Don’t share a taxi withstrangers.
   7. Take the co-pilot seat in the taxi and hold your bag tightly in case it gets robbed from the window when the taxi slows down or parks due to the traffic.
   8. Pay attention to the car numbers and ask for the receipts so that you can get your items back once you forget them in the taxi.
   9. Send your location and the car number to your family members or  friends with your mobiles if you take a taxi at night.
   10. Don’t meet online friends or strangers. Most of the information of the people online is fake. So be alert if someone online proposes to meet you and give you some gifts. If you have to do so, ask someone to accompany you. Tell your friends or family members about it before leaving. And the appointment must be made in public areas. Do refuse to meet them at private or remote places. Don’t accept food or drinks strangers provide.
   11. Keep your QQ and wechat password confidential. Once it is stolen, spread it to your family and friends immediately in case it causes them any financial loss.
   12. Don’t share your personal information such as your address, real name, school name, phone no., your photos or ID card copies, etc. with strangers or in public forumson the internet. Don’t believe the provocative or threatening messages from strangers.
   13. Inform your advisers if you go out of Shenyang for a tour during the vacation. Keep yourself available on phone.
   14. Pay attention to your travelling safety. Respect the local tradition and customs. Avoid conflicts with the local people and call 110 for the police if necessary.
   15. Close the window, cut off the power and turn off the tap while leaving the room to avoid the accidents such as a fire or a flood in the room.
   16. Do remember to renew the police registration within 24 hours when you are back to China.
