现任中国医科大学党委书记、校长,胃肠肿瘤精准诊疗教育部重点实验室负责人,辽宁省胃肠肿瘤临床医学研究中心负责人,国家卫生计生突出贡献中青年专家,科技部创新人才推进计划中青年科技创新领军人才,国家百千万人才工程国家级人选,享受国务院政府特殊津贴。兼任中华医学会肿瘤学分会胃癌学组组长等职务。主持国家自然科学基金,包括国际(地区)合作与交流项目、联合基金及面上项目等,国家重点研发计划精准医学研究专项课题、973计划前期研究专项及其他省部级项目共20余项;在JAMA Oncology、Molecular Cancer、Science Advances、Nature Communications等国际期刊发表SCI论文281篇,其中第一作者或通讯作者159篇,获国家科技进步二等奖及省部级科技进步奖等多项奖项。

学术贡献
1.To explain the regulation of energy metabolism on the differentiation and proliferation of gastric mucosal stem cells and the occurrence of gastric cancer.
2.To invent the new concept of "paligenosis" to define the process of fully differentiated cells reversely differentiate and gain proliferation ability, and firstly describe the pathological and molecular characteristics of paligenosis.
3.To report a non-coding RNA regulatory network for CLDN4 in gastric cancer and develop small molecule compounds according to this regulatory network.
4.To propose a series of optimization schemes for TNM staging, among which the optimized scheme for TNM staging of colorectal cancer was written into the 8th AJCC TNM staging guide.
5.To rapidly separate live gastric cancer cells from patients'ascites and achieved label-free characterization of gastric cancer cells by optically induced electrokinetics (OEK) based microfluidic method.
